Some 600 exhibitors from 23 countries will come together in the East Westphalian town of Bad Saalzuflen on February 24-28 for the furniture trade show ZOW.

This year the event will open Monday to Friday instead of the usual Tuesday to Friday – a move organisers hope will help cope with the large number of visitors and prevent the service shortages experienced in the past.

Other improvements include the addition of 800 extra parking spaces and the introduction of a one-way system around the exhibition halls during peak hours.

Visitors can register online at www.zow.info.

Meanwhile Spain is gearing up for its second ZOW, due to take place in Madrid on June 10-13.

The premier event at Madrid’s exhibition centre Parque Ferial Juan Carlos 1 in 2002 exceeded all expectations. The 7,000m2 site saw 148 exhibitors from 12 nations. Spanish furniture and interior design manufacturers accounted for 62%, followed by Italy with 21% and Germany with 8%.

More than 3,500 visitors attended – 91% of them from Spain and the rest from all over Europe.
