Figures from Survey Espana, the organisation behind the June show, reveal that 10,000 visitors passed through the doors of the Ifema exhibition centre in the Spanish capital, up from 8,000 in 2006, with the number coming from the UK, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico noticeably increasing.

And with exhibitor numbers increasing from 302 to 304, Survey Espana has said that the furniture industry trade show has managed to hold its own against competition from Interzum, Construmat and Maderalia.

“ZOW has been more than impressive in confirming its significance as the hub of the Spanish furniture industry supplier market,” said André Baken, chief executive officer of Survey Espana.

Mr Baken stated that the success could be put down to the range of sectors represented at the show, including plant manufacturers and trade associations, and the range of innovative features, including a web-based platform that allowed visitors and exhibitors to communicate and arrange meetings in advance of the show.
