Four contractors have been shortlisted by the Zambia Forest and Forestry Industries Company to handle the export of logs to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Only 200,000m3 of timber has been harvested from the 600,000m3 allowed, leaving 400,000m3 that is not consumed by the local market.
Timber export to the UAE is expected to start by the end of this year.
