The results of research into methods of identifying and sorting preservative-treated wood waste will be presented at a free seminar aimed at wood recyclers.

The event, organised by the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), will be held on January 23 at Haydock Park Racecourse and will include presentations on various sorting tehcnologies. Delegates can meet the manufacturers and see equipment demonstrated.

WRAP commissioned TRADA Technology to research techniques for classifying and separating treated and untreated material. Sorting allows untreated wood to be recycled through standard routes and treated timber separated for processing or reuse.
