The World Bank is lending US$108.2m to a project improving the management of tropical hardwood forests in Andhra Pradesh, India.
The investment will focus on 14 of the poorest districts of the state, covering 3.86 million ha of forest. These communities will manage their woodland, overseen by the state forest department which will provide technical advice.
