The challenge of designing and prototyping a new chair set by wood. for good in partnership with Middlesex University has resulted in an eye-catching display at the 100% Design exhibition at Earl’s Court.

The project, entitled 100% Chair, combined chairs designed by students from the department of product design and engineering at Middlesex University with new designs from leading names such as Will Alsop, Floris Van den Broecke and Studio Orange.

Wood. for good sponsored the project to highlight the design opportunities and environmental benefits of working with wood. “100% Chair has given designers from all levels of the industry the opportunity to take a good, hard look at a simple piece of furniture in a refreshing and modern way,” said managing director Charles Trevor. “Their response has been remarkable, with an amazing range that demonstrates the full potential of wood as a modern material for furniture design and manufacture.”
