A Treedial commissioned by wood. for good has been chosen as one of more than 20 garden designs to feature at the International Westonbirt Festival of Gardens at the National Arboretum in Gloucestershire.

wood. for good commissioned Roderick James Architects Carpenter Oak Ltd to design the Treedial, a sculpture tree that links sun, sky, water and earth within a garden space.

The challenge was to create a 150m2 garden within a materials budget of £12,000 and the garden had to give equal status to design, materials and plants.

Britain is taking part in an international movement of design-led garden events, following on from similar schemes at Chaumont in the Loire Valley, the Jardin de Metis in Québec and Hedens Lustgard at Gothenburg in Sweden. The Westonbirt project will be in place for three months.
