German manufacturer MeisterWerke has suspended production of its recently introduced wood fibre floor flooring and panels marketed under the Nadura brand.

The company blamed “unforeseeable changes in material-specific components” and said it was further investing in machinery as part of fundamental changes in the manufacturing process.

Production began at the beginning of the year and is not expected to resume until the final quarter of 2012. November. Customers have been told that orders received so far have been cancelled.

Managing director Guido Schulte said: “A team of senior engineers and product developers are working hard on optimising the manufacturing process. The changes in the material, however, require a further investment in plant equipment, so that the delivery of products is delayed by several months.”
