The project will be built by Stora Enso with construction company SRV based on Stora Enso’s Urban MultiStorey concept.
The construction will feature massive CLT boards and other timber elements in the wood structures. Wood City will cover 28,000m2 and include office, residential, hotel and business buildings. Work will start in 2014.
Anttinen Oiva Arkkitehdit’s winning entry Stories was chosen as the project that gives Wood City “every possibilitity of becoming internationally renowned wooden architecture”. The judges praised it for its simplicity and “reproducibility”.
