This year’s Wood Awards judges have whittled the 160 entries down into a 27-strong shortlist which includes strong contenders from previous winners, including Knox Bhavan Architects and Price & Myers.

Commenting on the quality of this year’s entries, the chairman of the judges, Michael Morrison of Purcell Miller Tritton said he was looking forward to visiting the shortlisted projects in person over the course of the summer.

“It gives me great satisfaction to see good design thriving in the UK,” he said. “The Wood Awards play a crucial role in promoting the quality of British design in the world’s most sustainable building material and I am looking forward to working with our panel of experts to judge the shortlisted projects over the summer.”

The winners will be announced at London’s Carpenter’s Hall on October 21.
