The Wood Awards is calling on the timber industry for additional funding following a drop in sponsorship for this year’s event.

The non-profit making annual competition recognises excellence in structural application of timber and its use in interiors and restoration. The successor event to the Carpenters Awards and backed by the Carpenters Institute, it has attracted nearly 1,000 entries since its inception in 2003.

Organiser Michael Buckley stressed that this year’s Awards are going ahead. In fact, they opened for entries in March (www.ttjonline.com March 4). But he said that there was a risk they would not be able to afford the level of promotion of previous years. A key loss has been sponsorship from the wood for good timber marketing campaign.

Companies wanting to sponsor the Awards should contact Maggie Young at the Good Agency on 0207738 1900, Maggie.Young@thegoodagency.com.
