Robust Detail approval allows Wolf to claim that its easi-joist flooring system has the strength and sustainability to be included in flatted developments, which it claims account for 46% of the new build market.

Moreover, Wolf has said that developments using easi-joist will no longer need to undertake pre-completion sound testing in line with with Part E of the Building Regulations, saving time and money.

“We are very pleased with this approval,it opens up large markets for us,” said marketing manager Ken Coulson.

“Easi-joist gives our customers the opportunity to supply manufactured products to developments which typically use fewer trusses.”

Mr Coulson added that Wolf expected the number of customers manufacturing easi-joist beams to increase following the product receiving Robust Detail approval as it is “becoming the preferred method of floor construction for many contractors throughout the UK and Ireland”.

Easi-joist beams are already allowed to carry the CE mark and with the original ETA approval were allowed to be manufactured to long lengths, making them as viable as other truss types for architects and designers.
