Timber treater WJ Group has announced it is opening its latest preservative treatment site at the Port of Creeksea, Essex.

The new site comes through a partnership with Baltic Distribution. The move marks a significant expansion in WJ Group’s national timber treatment capabilities.

WJ Group said the new facility reinforced its commitment to providing high-quality preservative timber treatment solutions while increasing efficiency and capacity to meet growing demand.

“We believe the strategically located site will play a vital role in servicing the UK’s timber industry, offering preservative treatments tailored for servicing large-scale timber importers,” the company said.

“The Port of Creeksea benefits from excellent logistical advantages, allowing WJ Group to streamline supply chains and improve service speeds for customers across the region. The new treatment site is closer to key distribution channels and will complement our existing treatment offering while enhancing overall efficiency.”

Alex Torkington, WJ Group commercial director, described the expansion as an exciting milestone for the company.

“This facility strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality treatment options to our customers while supporting our long-term commitment to service and expertise,” he said.
