UPM-Kymmene’s WISA trademark, already recognised as the trademark for Schauman’s plywood, has been expanded to take in sawn goods.
The managing director of United Sawmills Ltd, Kari Anttilainen, said: ‘United Sawmills Ltd has restructured its organisation and changed, for example, from sawmill-based marketing to customer-based marketing.
‘From now on wood products and further processed timber products designed and manufactured for certain end use will be marketed under a common WISA trademark.’
The names of the units manufacturing WISA products – Schauman Wood Oy, United Sawmills Ltd, Mahogany Oy, Parkanon Lista Oy and Kalso-Teollisuus Oy – remain unchanged.
