Five former senior executives of building materials supplier Wickes will stand trial this week on charges of fraudulent trading and making false statements.
They include Henry Sweetbaum, former chairman and chief executive and previously with Hunter Timber, Trefor Llewellyn, former finance director, and Geoffrey Battersby, former group financial controller.
All the defendants deny the charges, which relate to allegations of accounting irregularities that emerged in 1996. They left the company in 1997.
