Weyerhaeuser has announced its second round of layoffs in a week.
The US timber giant said 90 jobs at the former Willamette southern regional office in Ruston will either be lost or relocated. It will also consolidate eight of its timberlands and raw materials offices in Louisiana and southern Arkansas into just three offices.
The company earlier decided to close the former Willamette glulam manufacturing plant in Simsboro with the loss of 66 jobs.
The rationalisation of the business follows the completion of Weyerhaeuser’s takeover of the Willamette company in February.
