Weyerhaeuser Company hosted a reception for the panel products trade at the American Embassy, London last week.
Marketing and sales manager Geoff Rhodes told guests that the combined company of Willamette Industries and Weyerhaeuser has net sales worldwide of US$19bn and employs 58,000 people in 18 countries.
In Europe the three MDF and particleboard plants have been rebranded as the European Composite Panels Business and the company now has close to one million m2 of panel products capacity available. This is set to rise by 10% in 2002 and a further 10% in 2004.
Mr Rhodes said: “In Europe, as a company, we are getting used to shipping over 85,000m2 of product a month from the three European facilities and for this we need good clients, support and encouragement.”
