Weyerhaeuser has donated 500 surplus desktop computers to help Uruguay’s schools and learning centres.

The country’s president Jorge Batlle Ibanez formally accepted the computers at a recent ceremony in which he was given one of the units sealed in a Weyerhaeuser box decorated with the signatures of employees.

The Computers for Uruguay project, which will help more than 32,000 students of all grades, was launched in recognition of Weyerhaeuser’s joint ventures in the country.
