Weyerhaeuser Products Ltd, the European subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser, has expanded its technical sales team with the appointment of Robert Allinson as European product manager.
Having previously worked with Weyerhaeuser Europe, prior to the acquisition of Medite Europe by Coillte, Mr Allinson returns with extensive experience of the panels industry and increased market knowledge. He has also held sales positions with LH Kennedy and Ridgeons.
In his new role Mr Allison will be tasked with developing Weyerhaeuser’s distribution network as well as managing existing customer relationships. He will primarily be responsible for Lumin plywood as the company prepares to double European sales of the product.
As a member of the Institute of Wood Science and with a BSc (Hons) in Forestry and Forest Products, Mr Allinson will draw on this technical ability to drive market and product development.
Weyerhaeuser’s European commercial director John Guerin said Mr Allinson’s enthusiasm for the panels industry made him an exciting addition to the European team.
“His personal commitment to the importance of sustainability is a strategic fit with the wider company vision whilst his product and industry knowledge will prove critical to our continued business success. We are very pleased to have him on board,” he said.
