Fire-treated western red cedar shingles are getting prime time television exposure in Channel Four’s last ever series of Big Brother.

John Brash supplied the shingles for the ‘love nest hideaway’ in the Big Brother garden.

Christian Brash, director of John Brash, described the project as one of the most unusual he had been involved with and showed the versatility and enduring appeal of the product.

Big Brother house designer Markus Blee said western red cedar had helped to create the ideal balance between privacy and intrigue. “We found the use of western red cedar liberating from a design perspective.”

The programme is due to finish soon.
