The kit comes complete with everything needed to create a high-quality period tongue and groove-style finish in any room, and needs no special equipment to install beyond the standard tools.

The kit has been designed to provide the look of traditional wall panelling in any space – and can be used either in newbuild properties or to return the period feel to an existing home.

There are two packages in each kit – one containing a ready primed skirting and dado rail, and one including eight primed MDF beaded panels. Once fitted, each kit can cover up to 2.32m of wall space, with the skirting and dado rail creating a perfect finish that’s instantly ready to paint.

The MDF wall panelling kit has been made even easier to install thanks to the 10mm rebate lip designed into both the skirting and the dado rail. The lip provides space in which the beaded panels sit, so that each panel slots into place creating an instantly neat, straight edge. The rebate lip on the dado rail performs exactly the same function – hiding any edges and ensuring a clean, smart look.

If the kit is being fitted on a stairwell, or where there are electrical sockets or other obstructions to navigate, the MDF can be easily cut to the desired size using a saw.

The kit is fixed into place using adhesive and mitre glue, though tradespeople who wish to use a hammer and pins can do so. Any filling can be done using standard filler or caulk before the primed MDF is ready to be painted whatever colour the homeowner desires.

“Our MDF wall panelling kit is a fantastic new addition, and one that gives builders and tradespeople a simple way to transform a room,” said Simon Fleet, group commercial director. “Period styling never goes out of fashion as people look to add character to their properties, and this kit makes it easier than ever while enjoying all the benefits of the MDF material. We know tradespeople and homeowners alike will love the kit’s ease of use, and that merchants will see them flying off the shelves.”
