Woodgate Sawmills has taken delivery of a new Volvo L50E wheel loader for materials handling at its Coleford, Gloucestershire operation.
The new machine, which joins two older Volvo wheel loaders on the site, takes up the lion’s share of duties around the mill, according to Woodgate Sawmills director Andrew Humphries. “It’s a bit of a change from what we’ve been used to, but so far we’ve been very pleased with the performance of the new machine and the operator comfort is like chalk and cheese compared to the old models,” he said.
The L50E has a four-litre 101hp Volvo engine providing maximum torque at 1,500rpm and has an operating weight of just over 8.7 tonnes. The machine has been supplied with bucket, pallet forks and log sorting grapple. An optional Groeneveld automatic greasing system and reverse camera have been included in the package to Woodgate.
