Vietnam has set a US$450m forest product export target for this year.
It plans to achieve the figure by improving product standards, extending marketing and upgrading technology.
The industry earned US$410m in 2002, a US$20m increase on the previous year. Wood furniture made up the lion’s share of the total with US$286m, while fine arts items exported to other parts of Asia, North America and Europe accounted for US$75m.
