VIDA is making redundancies at two wood packaging plants due to sharp reductions in business in the engineering and automotive customer sectors.
The company said the effect of the financial crisis on customer sectors had hit Vida’s packaging division very hard over the past year.
Six people will lose their jobs at Ryd and 20 jobs will go in Hestra. Ryd will be closed next spring.
Meanwhile, production at the Ljungby sawmill is gradually being transferred to Vislanda, which is now approaching full operation.
