Door manufacturer Vicaima Ltd has upgraded the standard construction of its FD30(S) fire doors to comply with Part E (sound insulation) of the Building Regulations.

The range now features a new high-density core, developed and made by Vicaima in Portugal, which the company says can achieve a minimum mass per unit area of 27kg/m2.

The doors, which are independently tested to BS 476 Part 22 by Chiltern Fire, comply with both the UK certified fire door accreditation schemes – the British Woodworking Federation‘s BWF-CERTIFIRE and BM TRADA‘s Q-Mark.
