Ventrolla Wessex has renovated 950 timber sash windows as part of a £22m redevelopment programme at Bristol College.

The company worked with main contractor Pearce Construction in the renovation of 700 windows at the college’s Cabot and Davy Houses. It linked up with Chamberlain Contractors to restore a further 250 units at Brunel House.

Ventrolla used its own VR90 Wood Repair system to repair the windows. But the company had to supply some new units, featuring replica glazing bars, where repair was not possible.

It also used its sealing system to eliminate draughts and rattles, as well as reduce the effects of external noise.

Cord operated opening systems were fitted to each of the windows, due to their height.
