The Stevenage-based company turned to Leicester-based TM Machinery, the supplier of Valley’s Striebig Evolution vertical panel saw, for a new sanding solution to replace a single-belt sander that had reached the end of its working life.

An entry-level Viet S211 artisan wide-belt sander was specified for use on softwoods and hardwoods, to finish doors, unassembled frames, architraves, veneered boards and joinery items.

The twin-belt machine can sand items with a thickness range of 5-57mm.

"Before, everything had to go through the sander twice and we often had to do some bench work to take out any cross-grain," said Valley’s managing director, William Graham.

He said the completion of sanding operations in one pass before components go on to Valley’s paint shop for priming saved the company both time and effort.
