US hardwood flooring retailer Lumber Liquidators has reported good UK business prospects after attending the Grand Designs Live show in London.

The company, which launched in the UK earlier this year at the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show, told TTJ it had plans to open more warehouses and a showroom, probably in London.

Its incentives to UK general public and builder customers include hardwood flooring offered at up to 70% below UK prices and free shipping.

Grand Designs also had representation from several timber window manufacturers, including Ambass-a-Door, Arbor Window Systems and Klöeber, while Oakwrights and Carpenter Oak had a strong presence in the oak frame sector.

In the Grand Village outside the ExCeL exhibition halls, timber construction was much in evidence, with a log house and a timber framed home on display. The latter was built during the show, with Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud project managing the build.
