The product will be used in the structure and decking of furnishing systems company Artek’s pavilion at the Milan show. Japanese architect Shigeru Ban has designed the pavilion.
“The pavilion project together with Artek is an excellent example how to make use of the new material creatively,” said Vesa Sorri, vice-president of UPM‘s corporate venturing.
ProFi is made of wood fibres, plus paper and plastic self-adhesive labels which are surplus from UPM Raflatac’s production.
The material is manufactured in Lahti.
