UPM is selling its group head office in Finland as part of a streamlining exercise designed to save costs.
The company is selling its real estate holdings in Eteläesplanadi 2, as well as Kiinteistö Oy Heikkiläntie 8 in Lauttasaari and Kiinteistö Oy Pientare on Snellmanikatu. UPM will continue to occupy the Eteläesplanadi building under a long-term lease.
About 400 people currently work at Eteläesplanadi 2 but after the streamlining, which also includes shedding 30 staff, only 270 people will remain.
Around 100 people will transfer to more “cost-efficient” premises, with Lauttasaari staff joining them.
