UPM has celebrated the inauguration of its newly expanded plywood mill in Otepää, Estonia and will build a coating line at the facility in 2009.
The mill’s production capacity has been increased to 50,000m³, while the coating line will increase the processing value of plywood products manufactured there.
“Building coating capacity at Otepää helps us to meet increasing customer needs for coated plywood products,” said mill manager Ando Jukk.
“With the coating line in operation, Otepää mill is able to coat half of the panels produced.”
Otepää manufactures FSC-certified WISA birch plywood mainly for the construction and transport industries.
