Thermally modified birch and pine wood veneers are being launched by UPM.
The WISA-Thermo rotary-cut veneers and sliced WISA-Thermo pine and birch veneers add darker colours to the existing range of Finnish white birch veneers supplied for the furniture, panel and door industry.
UPM plywood sales manager Martti Virkkunen said thermal modification provided medium to dark colours desired in furniture, wall panels and doors.
The products will receive an exhibition airing at Interzum in Cologne on May 13-16.
