UPM Timber has organised a competition to design a bold, inspiring and distinctive wooden building in Helsinki.
The April 17-18 event, the WISA 24-hour Wooden Design Workshop, challenges architects, industrial designers, creative designers and students to show their talent during an intensive design workshop.
The location will not be revealed before the competition starts and building materials to be used are Finnish pine and spruce.?? The winning work will be built in the middle of Helsinki.
UPM aims to raise public discussion about Finnish wood archi-tecture and its role in urban surroundings. ??
