Neither side would reveal the value of the sale, but the Finnish forest products group said it would book a capital gain of €25m on the deal.
Walki Wisa, a business unit of the UPM converting division, has operations in the UK, Finland, Germany, Sweden and China, and employs 950 people. Sales last year were €287m with UPM divisions among its key customers.
