UN secretary-general Kofi Annan wants security to be stepped up in Liberia to help prevent illegal timber trading.
Mr Annan said the country’s National Transitional Government is unable to secure timber and diamond producing areas properly.
He suggested the UN Security Council widens the mandate and strengthens the resources of its peacekeeping force.
