Anew forum to promote the sustainable development of forests has been set up by the United Nations.
The UN Forum on Forests, which will create legal frameworks for developing forests, will meet annually for up to two weeks to consider recommendations by expert groups on how finance, technology transfer and trade can help forestry.
The annual meeting will include a one-day policy dialogue between ministers, the forestry industry and environmentalists.
