UK Forest Products Association (UKFPA) members from Scotland and northern England have met in Stirling to learn more about the application of the FSC Controlled Wood Standard.

UKFPA executive director David Sulman said the practical workshop led by BM TRADA Certification’s Alasdair McGregor had been successful in demystifying the subject.

“The FSC Controlled Wood Standard is a challenging, but essential part of the FSC process,” said Mr McGregor.

“It is vitally important that FSC has stringent measures in place to ensure that any non-FSC wood used in a product carrying an FSC claim has been through a rigorous risk assessment process in order to protect FSC’s good name and integrity of its trademark.”
