The value of UK softwood imports in 2011 fell 10% to £850m, according to the latest statistics from The Timber Trade Federation (TTF).

Hardwood imports were worth £231m during the year, representing a fall of 4% over 2010.

Hardwood and softwood plywood both rose by 3% and were worth £286m and £109m respectively.

Particleboard imports totalled £152m, up 10%, while MDF imports rose 13% to £174m.
