The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) report says forest cover in Uganda is decreasing by 2% annually, with cover standing at 3.6 million ha in 2005, down from 4.9 million ha in 1990.
The FAO says Uganda’s forests make up 24% of the country’s total land mass.
It believes pressure on forests will continue due to growing population levels.
