The EU has allocated US$1.9m as a forest plantation fund to help Ugandans in the private sector to grow trees this year.
Many central government reserves were set aside for tree planting some time ago but the trees have never been planted.
Potential beneficiaries will initially be allocated land in the reserve where they have to plant at least 20ha before they can access funding.
