Mr Thrale has worked in the timber industry for 25 years and his previous roles include procurement and supply chain management positions at Meyer Timber, Finnforest and K&B Forest Products.
UCM Timber chairman Mark Plews said the appointment was part of the company’s strategic plan to increase its existing panel products business and develop new trading opportunities.
