During the worst winter recorded by the Finnish Maritime Association for some 50 years, TTS Shipping Ltd recently chartered mv Rets Timber for its Scan-UK route.
The vessel arrived at the TTS terminal in Alexandra Dock, Hull in January with a cargo of 14,252m3 – by far the largest single cargo of Finnish and Swedish cargo ever to land at the Port of Hull.
The 3,712 packages of timber had been loaded by the ship’s own three cranes in weather conditions as low as -30degreesC.
To mark this new record, Associated British Ports plc presented the ship’s master with a commemorative plaque.
