The TTJ Awards 2019 is kicking off with a new venue and digital voting system being introduced this year.
The timber trade’s annual awards event, now in 23rd year, will be held on September 13 and rewards excellence in the timber products industry, from importing and distributing, to joinery products and structural timber systems. It also recognises product innovation, in association with TRADA, and career development in the sector.
This year we will be refreshing some of the categories to reflect changes in the industry and to broaden its appeal to the timber trade’s customer base.
The awards event will be held on September 13 at Hilton London Bankside, a design-led hotel a stone’s throw from the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
The £48m Hilton London Bankside, the next generation of design-led Hilton Hotels, was constructed in 2014 as part of the on-going urban renewal of the South Bank area and in 2018 scooped Europe’s Leading Business Hotel 2018 at the 25th annual World Travel Awards in Athens. It was also nominated for a European Hotel Design Award.
“We are excited about new features we are bringing to the TTJ Awards this year,” said TTJ group editor Stephen Powney.
“We want it to continue to be the timber industry’s own award event, but at the same time develop it further to celebrate all that is going on in the world of wood.”
A new digital voting system for the voted categories will be launched soon to enable the widest possible reach among eligible voters. The supply chain will be able to spread the message about the system to voters in its various customer bases.
