The half-day workshops will be run by the BRE which designed and runs the EcoHomes scheme.
Liz Betser, the TTF‘s environment and forest policy manager, said the EcoHomes assessment of the environmental peformance of a house is being used by builders across the country to determine, amongst other things, which building materials to use.
“Timber can score particularly well,” she said. “Knowing how to maximise your customers’ opportunities to gain extra EcoHomes points through the use of wood will give a competitive advantage in a crowded marketplace.”
She said participants in the workshops will learn how to understand the credits that can be achieved by using wood products, how maximum credits can be achieved and what type of wood products attract the highest ratings.
The workshops will be held in Newcastle on October 5 and in London on November 23. For information visit www.ttf.co.uk.
