The declaration, signed during a TTF meeting with environment minister Ian Pearson, acknowledges the negative impacts of climate change and requires trade association signatories to change their own behaviour to reduce their carbon footprint and to work with industry to help them adopt best practice.

TTF chief executive John White said movement and light sensitive lighting had been fitted in The Federation‘s new London offices. Fitting out was with Forest Stewardship Council-certified plywood.

“We are currently working up a plan to cut further our work-related carbon footprint by, for example, favouring train over plane as the preferred means of transport,” said TTF chief executive John White. “Additionally we are evaluating carbon offset schemes to sequester our emissions where they cannot be cut.”
