A second set of country guidance documents – covering Cameroon, France, Germany and the US – have been drafted by the Timber Trade Federation.

The new guides focus on relevant commercial information so TTF members can make an informed decision about the legality/sustainability risk rating of individual products.

Three of the countries – Germany, France and the US – are classified as low risk, while issues of legality are highlighted in Cameroon.

Guides have already been published covering Brazil, China, Ghana, Indonesia, Malaysia and Russia, with a further 20 guides planned on timber countries which are major timber exporters to the UK.

Members can make comments on the new drafts by contacting the TTF’s Graham Bruford at gbruford@ttf.co.uk.
