TTF chief executive John White said the move from Clareville House off Leicester Square to the Building Centre in Store Street near Tottenham Court Road would connect The Federation more closely with the key construction industry sector.

“The Building Centre is a centre for all kind of building seminars and exhibitions and it has a good bookshop for architects,” said Mr White. “It really is putting the TTF right where it needs to be – in front of its customers in the building and construction industry.”

The February 28 move, which will see the federation benefitting from a cheaper lease, has been triggered by an impending refurbishment programme at the TTF’s current offices in listed Clareville House.

More than 2,300 visitors and delegates, from housebuilders and specifiers to students, visit the Building Centre every week. The centre’s activities are focused towards providing information, inspiration and a vital link between products, technology and design.

Meanwhile, the federation is also looking to recruit a communications consultant to help improve its brand recognition.
