Twenty-two people representing 24 companies and organisations attended The Timber Trade Federation’s inaugural engineered wood products division meeting.

The division has been created as a result of the rapid growth of engineered wood products in the UK.

“We want to make sure that our members are represented in that development and that we help educate and engage with the demand-side through channels such as this,” said TTF head of external affairs David Hopkins.

Mr Hopkins said promotion of engineered wood’s potential to architects and specifiers was likely to be a key aspect of the division’s work, alongside the work of Wood for Good and other channels.

Issues discussed included construction sector engagement, standardisation, education and training –industry co-ordination, information management and promotion.

The TTF is looking for stakeholders to lead/participate in these various areas in order to develop solutions, exchange information or grow the engineered wood market share.
