If the AGM approves, the proposition is that the trigger for the RPP becoming a criterion for belonging to the TTF is when 51% of members have signed up to it voluntarily. At that point there will be another vote to set the deadline for the rest of the membership to adopt the policy and for new members to sign up to it when they join.

“The resolution, which will only be passed if members vote for it, reaffirms the TTF’s commitment to the highest environmental standards, while giving members the necessary flexibility to suit their businesses,” said TTF chief executive John White.

“With over 35 members signed up and approaching half the wood traded covered by the scheme, we are confident the momentum generated by the RPP will continue to deliver market advantages for our members.”
