The Timber Trade Benevolent Society (TTBS) has a new logo designed to update its image and better define its function.

The society had to turn to a design company for help after none of the entries to its logo competition launched in April last year was deemed suitable.

TTBS general manager Malcolm Job explained: “We had about half a dozen entries to the competition, but the board did not pick any of them. We sent all the entrants a voucher for a bottle of wine and then went to a professional design company.

“To me, the new logo looks like a stylised slice of log. The old logo looked like a naval cap badge, whereas this one is modern and crisp and hopefully reflects the society more.”
